About Us

The Southern African Laboratory Diagnostic Association is a body that represents laboratory medicine in Southern Africa. It is a single voice around IVD’s and a collaboration of multinational and local companies who distribute In Vitro Diagnostic tests. SALDA has a constitution and operates under a code of ethics.

  • Legislation relating to the Medicines and Related Substances Act as amended by Act 72 and Act 14.
  • Improvements to the NHLS HTA process.
  • African forum which updates members on the regulatory environment in East, West, North And Southern African Countries.
  • Ethical engagement with relevant stakeholders in industry.
